• The Forest Room

    The Forest Room (2017)
The Forest Room was developed for the grand opening of The Salon (Detroit) and inspired by an idea rooted in what it might be like to walk into a forest designed by the noted art world power couple of Helen Frankenthaler and Robert Motherwell. I designed a series of four murals (my favorite wall is pictured), complete with straw bales for seating and a large tarp that was hung from the ceiling with holes cut in it so that the ambient fluorescent light could beam through like stars. Every now and then, I would come by in costume as a witch from the Sun to water the trees and create low-lying fog via dry ice that lay in copper pots.
